Auto Insurance Company Agent Job Description
The Job of an Auto Insurance Company agent is to sell policies which protects owners of vehicles from financial losses by auto theft, vehicle accidents or damage. Auto Insurance agents sell policies i.e. coverage for vandalism, natural disasters and property loss. These auto insurance policies may also covers incidental charges such as towing or rental car costs during thr repairing of vehicle. The job of Independent Auto Insurance agents who also known as “Brokers” is to check and provide best deals policies for their clients. Captive agents or agents who work for a Auto Insurance company can sell policies only for one auto insurance carrier.
Staff agents are paid in monthly salary by Auto Insurance Companies while independent agents works on commission. Common duties of both type of agents is to contact customers, providing best policies and giving detailed information on best auto insurance policies, assisting with claims, renewing current policies and maintaining records.
Auto Insurance agents are employed on full time basis. Agents can meet clients in the evenings or weekends. Auto Insurance agents may also work flexible hours. Auto Insurance Agents may also have to travel to meet clients.
